Property Management?

Hi I was wondering if anyone experienced could help me out. I just graduated with my MBA in business and I am very interested in become a property manager here in New York. I have very basic experience assisting my father on the side with some of his properties but I was wondering if anyone knows what steps I need to take in order to become a property manager and/or appeal to a potential employer for an assistant property management job. I currently have experience in unrelated fields like auto insurance claims in a call center, a couple of years of sales and retail experience.

It sounds like you have a lot of good experience and education….why dont you start calling some property management companies, find out who does the hiring, and tell them about yourself
