Can anyone tell me if TransGlobe property management services is safe?

Hi, I just looked at this beautiful apartment in North York and when I wanted to sign the application they asked me to call TransGlobe and get the papers done thru one of their agent. This guy said we’d meet tomorrow and asked me to bring 1month worth of rent via money order and a void cheque. Is it safe to hand it to him? What should I do? My intuition is telling me that this might be a fraud. Please someone help me!
