What to do about shady property management companies?

Where do I report a well known agency whose employee’s use scare tactics and eviction threats against section 8 tenants to make secret contracts for their own $ gains? I’ve tried Legal Aid, but was rudely told to back off, and no lawyer will touch it either. All this because of my complaints to have major repairs done to our apt for 3 yrs, which resulted in a fire, owner/agency ignored us, lost everything due to fire and theft. Also, no deposit returned either. Just dropped us at Motel 6 with just the few things we were allowed to take. Shelter Inc was the property mgmt, whose employee was blackmailing us to keep our mouth shut or ? There is no help for low income tenants with shady people who are in the business of providing places to go, when faced with instant homelessness, especially when it’s their fault in the first place.

File a suit in Federal court for everything you think you’re owed. Go before a judge, explain the situation, find the landlord-tenant laws from you state and county/municipality and point to the laws the landlord broke… Then base your complaint and subsequent losses to the fact that the landlord broke those laws, and therefore the law says the landlord owes you money and/or other remedies.
