leasing home through property management, what are chances of getting good renters?
We bought a new relocate home (our dream) in Cary, NC. However, we cannot sell our existing home due to hidious market. Therefore we are going to lease our home through a property managment company. My biggest fear is renters from hellllll. The company i’m going with checks credit, past rental references, etc. Renters must have good credit and a good history. With this type of screening, what are the odds of still getting bad renters in your home. Not paying their rent is NOT my biggest fear. Being bad neighbors and or tearing up my home is my biggest fear. I’ve selected that they not rent to smokers, or pet owners. I’ve requested that they only rent my home to someone with exceptional credit history.
Property management companies only make a living by knowing what to look for in potential renters. The chances of getting bad renters using a property mgmt. company are much lower than if you were doing it yourself. You can never be 100% sure, but it isn’t something you should worry about as long as you trust the management you choose.
